Creating Useful Dynamic Groups
Infosec IQ allows for the creation of groups based on learner attributes and history in the platform using dynamic filtering. All learner attributes and timeline events captured for a learner can in turn be used to organize learners into functional groups for targeting PhishSim and AwareEd campaigns. If you view a learner’s profile in the application you will see a number of different attributes and a summary of timeline events related to that individual.

Tenure Based
One of the group filters available is the Created date. Using this filter we can create a group of learners who were created within the Last 30, 60, or 90 Days depending on what may define a new employee in an organization. There may be required training or expectations for anybody new to an organization or new to Infosec IQ, and the ability to target learners by tenure can enable this functionality. Other additional filter fields that may apply could be Last AD Login if you are using AD sync to import learners.
Role Based Groups
To target training or phishing campaigns based on a learner’s role in the organization, there are two different groups that are suggested to create in the account. Creating a group by both Department and by Title will provide this capability.
Location Based Groups
Being able to provide targeted phishing campaigns based on locations can be the difference between a successful phishing campaign or not. Additionally, in order to make sure learners are trained on relevant compliance topics for their country, identifying and providing training based on where they work from can be achieved with location based group filtering. Location related fields include Country, State, City, Zip and even phone number if you are identifying by area code.
Performance Based Groups
Over time in a security awareness program some learners will be successful and some will need some extra help. Infosec IQ users have a letter grade as a measurement of overall performance. As learners interact with different trainings or are getting phished, their letter grade will go up or down. Those that are getting phished, entering data, and not completing training their overall grade will begin to fall and this is a call to action. A group can be created for those with a less than great letter grade.
Language Based Groups
AwareEd training is available in many different languages which can be selected when training is started with the exception of Assessments. With this specific training, courses might be needed for specific languages and if this level of specification is needed a group based on their preferred language can be beneficial to use.
Custom Field Groups
One of the available attributes in the learner profile is a custom field. A custom field can be mapped via AD Sync, populated in the CSV field, or added individually to a learner. This field was intended to allow you to add additional attributes that don’t fit in our pre-configured fields. This can be used to add an Employee ID, designate what building the learner works in, what region they oversee, or what year they started working for the company. Infosec IQ will treat this as a text field and allow for filtering based on if the custom field Equals, Not Equals, Contains, Does not contain, or Starts with.
Combination of Fields Groups
When utilizing the And/Or relationship filter groups can be created to consider more than one attribute to create additional learner groups. For example if you were to look at what their role is and when they were added, or where they are working, the two filters Created within 90 days AND Title contains Manager would create a group of New Managers. Similarly, Title And Location would allow you to create a group of managers in a particular state or country.
